Douglas County Corrections Center - Remodel Phase I
Douglas County Corrections Center - Remodel Phase I
DR Anderson completed a remodel at the Douglas County Corrections Center. This project was a phased approach to remodel 9 housing units, a recreational gym, and areas of the first floor at the corrections center. The remodel included the replacement of all lighting, interior glass, exterior glass, painting of all frames, minor plumbing replacement and the installation of new epoxy flooring in several showers. The work also included the removal and replacement of two large skylights as well as the installation of new exterior metal wall panels near one of the skylights. The project also involved brick restoration to repair old and damaged brick on the exterior of the building, as well as small additional renovation work including doors, hardware, frames, block walls, painting, and new countertops. The project was unique in the fact that the corrections center stayed open and the inmates were removed from each housing unit for a period of 3 weeks for all the work to be completed. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
